Visit the Mykonian Farm

At our farm, visitors have the unique opportunity:

• To learn about Mykonian farming,
• (if requested) To directly experience some farming tasks, with the supervision of course of the superintendent, eg. vegetable garden watering, weeding of the vineyard, picking eggs from the coop,
• To Meet and pet our farm animals, which would also make it the perfect destination for families with children,
• To see our vegetable garden, where we plant tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, eggplants, and peppers. In fact, you can taste our tomatoes and cucumbers during the snack.

Mykonian Farm awaits you!

The adventure starts at 17:00 from your hotel or your desired pick-up location, you will be driven to our traditional farm. We will drive across the center of the island that unites the city (Hora) of Mykonos with the homonym village of Ano Mera, a distance of 7 kilometers. Once we arrive at the village we will pass through the picturesque square. We then continue by walking only 400 meters to the Mykonian Farm where we will be greeted by the Farm’s superintendent who will guide us through the territory, recounting the history of the places while showing us how organic and animal farming operates.

Later, while sitting and relaxing on a traditional stone-built couch sipping raki we will learn the history of the island’s farming, its livestock, and its crops. During the storytelling of the Mykonian Traditional farming habits, you will enjoy a farmer’s snack consisting of bread, tomatoes, kopanisti, cucumbers, and poor man’s black olives, accompanied by the traditional raki.

At approx. 18:40 the (optional) farming tasks will begin, which include:

• Cleaning of the garden/picking the weeds
• Trimming of the garden and vineyard
• Cleaning, watering, and feeding of the animals
• Picking of eggs
• Cutting and savoring products from the vegetable garden
• Free time to play/caress the animals or take pictures with them

The superintendent will provide you with the right tools for the tasks and instruct you as you go along. Those clients who don’t want to get involved with farming tasks can have more free time at their leisure.

Shortly before 20:00, we will take the way back to the hotel. More specifically the program:

• Pick-up from the hotel or port: 17:00
• Arrival at Ano Mera: 17:30
• Arrival at the farm: 17:45 - 17:50
• Welcoming from the farm’s superintendent and tour of the farm: 17:50
• Treat and snack in the sitting area: 18:20
• Optional farm tasks and/or free time: 18:40
• Departure for the hotel: 20:00

Mykonian Farm Experience

Take a break to a place where you can explore a part of Mykonos where time slows down just enough for you to relax and experience a traditional way of living just like Mykonians do, on the Mykonian farm hands-on experience tour which starts with picking you up from your chosen meeting point, then we drive across the center of the island that unites Mykonos town (Hora) with the village of Ano Mera, which is approximately7 kilometers apart. Once we arrive at the village we will pass through the picturesque square and visit the monastery of Panagia Tourlianis. We then continue by walking only 400 meters to the Mykonian Farm where we will be welcomed by the Farm’s superintendent who will guide us through the territory, for a tour of its premises. Depending on the season and if available, you can also cut and savor products from the vegetable garden. The farm animals (goats, sheep, donkeys, rabbits, cows, etc.) will be at your disposal for petting or caring.

After exploring the garden and the animals, it’s time for the farm's sommelier to take you on a journey of drinks through tasting 3 prestigious local wines and this will take place in a specially arranged sitting area. You will not only learn basic tasting techniques but also uncork and savor Greece’s most distinct blends.

Once done with the sipping and tasting, then the cooking demonstration of some of Greece’s most traditional dishes will begin, under the guidance or supervision of the famous Mrs. Teta, during which guests will learn to make spinach pie, stuffed tomatoes, and peppers and the famous tzatziki. Depending on the number of participants, the guests will take turns in helping out the hostess as well as learning the preparation of the dishes. Immediately after, the light lunch will be served, which consists of the dishes of the demonstration (spinach pie, stuffed tomatoes, peppers, seasonal salad, and feta cheese). The whole experience will last for approximately 5 hours, once finished you will be transferred back to your destinations.

Make sure that your outfit is casual, as there is little room for a “formal dress code” on the farm!
