Activity Description
The Via Cordata route in Meteora, specifically on the Rock of Agia, is a breathtaking experience designed for adventurers with no necessary experience. It blends hiking with easy rock climbing, similar to a Via Ferrata. The route follows ancient trails once used by monks during the Middle Ages to reach the now-abandoned monasteries, providing a strong historical and spiritual dimension to the climb.
During the four-hour journey, climbers are guided by experienced instructors, using ropes and climbing anchors for safety. The route offers stunning views over the Meteora landscape and Kalabaka town, culminating in a panoramic view from the top of the Great Saint Rock, one of Meteora’s highest peaks. The hike involves traversing narrow paths carved on the rock’s edge, offering breathtaking vistas along the way.
Participants are provided with helmets, climbing harnesses, and via ferrata sets and the experience is available year-round. It is open to individuals aged 14 and above
