Live the Meteora Sunset Experience with an E-bike
Activity Description
Do a bike tour of the UNESCO-listed monasteries of Meteora. Bike among the giant rocks and learn about the history of the area from your tour leader. Visit the Church of the Virgin Mary, and the Bandovas caves, and see 6 of the monasteries that are still active. Finally, take in one of the best sunsets in Greece.
Begin by meeting your guide at the bike rental facilities and being assigned an e-bike. Receive a brief introduction on how the bike works. Make your way to your first stop, the 1000-year-old Church of the Virgin Mary, which is the most important monument in Kalabaka.
Next, cycle uphill towards the Meteora monasteries. Make a stop at the caves of Bandovas. Explore the caves with your tour leader and learn about the legends of the old hermitage monks of Bandovas. Enjoy a cold drink along the way.
Continue cycling uphill, appreciating the effortless ride that an electronic bike offers you. See all six of the monasteries that are still open today, and view the others that have long ago been abandoned. Use the opportunity to take as many photos as you like.
Just before sundown, cycle to an observation point in Meteora and take in panoramic views. Stay and watch the sunset over the valley below. Afterward, experience the thrill of riding downhill through the nature of Meteora until you reach Kalabaka again, where the tour ends.

- This tour is not for absolute beginners cause you have to share the road with cars and buses, moving at a slow pace though, and you have not to be afraid riding on a road without a bicycle lane
