Xerovouni in Central Evia has its highest peak at 1435 meters, and is called Portaris.
Program
Morning departure from Athens to the picturesque Steni in Evia.
A little outside the village we will start our route enjoying the impressive view of Mount Dirfys on our left and Xerovouni on our right
It will not be long before we reach the Xerovouni Plateau, where we enjoy the amazing view of the surrounding peaks, we continue our ascent to the top. As we climb, the landscape changes and from the rich vegetation that we had around us, the nature changes and the landscape becomes alpine.
Arriving at the top we will enjoy the endless blue of the Aegean.
Return and eat at the wonderful taverns of Steni.

Xerovouni is a mountain in Evia and in essence is a continuation of the Dirfis mountain range.
Although its name reminds you of a dry and barren mountain, every other has many places and a large surrounding forest with chestnuts, firs, beeches and pines.
Its unique goddess in the endless blue of the Aegean which fills every hiker with images of unique beauty.
Xerovuni is a microcosm of big and difficult mountains and could be a training ground for mountaineering schools, since it has almost everything.
It includes fir forests, sinkholes, gullies, gullies, climbing passages, alpine meadows and much more.
