Discover Tzoumerka with Ε-bike: Vourgareli - Theodoriana

Vourgareli - Athamanio - Acheloos Beach - Rema Marx - Theodoriana - Souda Waterfalls

On this excursion we visit the southern side of Tzoumerka. We have the opportunity to admire amazing landscapes and traditional villages built in the “embrace” of the imposing mountains of Tzoumerka. The capital village of Vourgareli perched on the slopes of Tzoumerka, the “lonely” village of Theodoriana, the short hike to Rema Marx, the double waterfall of Souda as well as the exotic beach of Acheloos are some of the fantastic places we visit on this excursion.

Tour program

1st Day:

Meeting in the village of Vourgareli and check-in at the hotel. Then we depart on the electric bikes for the most exotic beach of the Greek mountains, the beach of the valley of Aspropotamos or Acheloos. After about an hour in a route between firs, plane trees, chestnuts and other trees, we reach the river, where we stop to enjoy our picnic and dive into its cool waters.After enjoying the traditional flavors of the region, we take our way back. On our route, we visit the amphitheatrically-built village of Athamanio, where we stop for a few minutes for a traditional homemade sweet. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon. In the evening dinner, at the hotel restaurant. Overnight.

2nd Day:

Breakfast at the hotel and we start our route to Theodoriana, the village with abundant running water. We cross the amphitheatrically built village of Athamanio and continue our ascent for another half hour or so. The view we have throughout the route will captivate us. After completing the relatively easy ascent thanks to the electric bikes, our traditional picnic table will be awaiting us and we sit down to taste the homemade local dishes while enjoying the view of the imposing mountain peaks of the area. After our long stop, we descend for another 20 minutes or so, where we leave the bikes to visit the hidden paradise of the area, Rema Marks. We start our hike on the path in a beautiful fir forest. After a 30 minute walk, we reach Rema Marks. Here we rest and relax listening to the sounds of running water and twittering birds in a truly fairytale landscape. In the summer months, a dip in the cool waters will surely rejuvenate us. We return to the bikes and in about 15 minutes we enter Theodoriana, where we settle in the guesthouse to spend the night. In the evening, dinner in a village tavern with a wonderful view. Overnight.

3rd Day:

The last day includes our visit to the double waterfall of Souda. After breakfast, we depart on the electric bikes to the trail that leads to the waterfalls. We leave the bikes and hike for about 15 minutes, until the impressive – 25 meters high – double Souda waterfall appears. A master-piece of nature that literally captivates the visitor. After the necessary photos, we return to the bikes and depart for our final destination, Vourgareli. Passing through beautiful subalpine meadows, we begin to descend towards the village, where we arrive at noon. Impressed by the wild beauty of nature, leaving behind the southern Tzoumerkohoria filled with unforgettable images.

• All our cycling tours are always carried out with a certified guide-bike companion and a support car.
• Children can participate in all our excursions, always accompanied by an adult-guardian. Otherwise, we will need a declaration from the parent.
• Children from 14 years of age and older (with a minimum height of 150cm) can use their own electric bike. For younger children, there is the possibility of using a tag along children’s bike connected to an adult’s electric bike. For infants up to 22 kg, we use child seats of European standards.
• Excursions take place all year round and on all days, weather permitting. The departure time is usually 09.30 in the morning but depending on the weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.) it can change.
