Discover the unknown side of Crete with our E-Bike (3-day All Inclusive)

Our tour starts from Heraklion and we head towards the southern villages and Kyparissos. On the second day we visit Houdetsi and Kunavus, while most people choose to visit the Palace of Knossos. Our last day includes Venerato, Dafnes and Pentamodi, where we enjoy the beauty of central Crete and the local gastronomy.

Itinerary:

Day 1

Starting from Herakleion – Time flexible

Discover the villages of Archanes  - Vathypetro - Kyparissos 

Begin our e-bike adventure from Heraklion city, the capital city of Crete. As you leave Heraklion behind, we will follow countryside routes that wind through olive groves, vineyards, and rural landscapes. Our e-bike's electric assistance will make the journey comfortable and enjoyable, regardless of your fitness level. We will enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys as we pedal through the countryside towards Archanes, and we will stop along the way to capture photos of the picturesque landscapes. Along the route, we will pass through quaint villages. We have the opportunity to stop and explore these villages, interact with the locals, and learn about the region's rich cultural heritage. After a scenic ride, we arrive in Archanes, a charming village known for its traditional architecture, lively atmosphere, and excellent wine. We park our e-bike and explore the village's narrow streets, visiting its historic sites. Delicious Meze waiting for us at one of Archanes' tavernas, where we can sample authentic Cretan cuisine and relax in the warm Mediterranean sun. After exploring Archanes, we hop back on our e-bike to continue our trip. 

As we depart Archanes, we will venture into the tranquil countryside, where olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills dominate the scenery. The gentle terrain and scenic vistas make for a delightful e-biking experience. Marvel at the breathtaking landscapes as we pedal towards Kiparissos. The route offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, providing ample opportunities for memorable photo stops along the way. En route to Kiparissos, we will pass through hamlets, each exuding its own unique charm and character. We have the chance to immerse ourselves in local life, interact with friendly villagers, and discover hidden gems off the beaten path. Upon reaching Kiparissos, you'll be greeted by the village's serene ambiance and traditional allure. We Park our e-bike and explore Kiparissos at your leisure, wandering its picturesque streets and admiring its rustic architecture.

Day  2

Starting from our office or Kyparissos – Time between 09.00 – 10.00

Discover the villages of Choudetsi – Kounavous – Knossos Palace

Choudetsi  is a small situated approximately 17 kilometers south of Heraklion city, nestled in the foothills of Mount Psiloritis. The village has a rich history dating back to ancient times. It was once an important Minoan settlement, as evidenced by archaeological finds in the surrounding area. The village has retained its traditional character and charm over the centuries, is renowned for its cultural heritage, particularly its music tradition. The village hosts the annual "Choudetsi Festival," a renowned music festival that celebrates Cretan and world music. Features traditional Cretan architecture, with stone-built houses, narrow alleyways, and charming squares. Ιs surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including olive groves, vineyards, and rugged mountains. 

Local Cuisine: The village offers a taste of authentic Cretan cuisine, with tavernas and cafes serving traditional dishes made from fresh, local ingredients, accompanied by local wine or raki.

Kounavoi

We will explore the hidden gem of Kounavoi village and delve into its rich tradition of raki making. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and aromas of the distillation process, and gain insight into the centuries-old techniques passed down through generations. With this unique opportunity we will experience the authentic flavors and culture of Crete in the heart of Kounavoi village."

Knossos Palace* 

Located near Heraklion in Crete, Greece, is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Knossos was the center of the Minoan civilization, one of the earliest advanced civilizations in Europe, dating back to around 2000 BCE. It is believed to have been the legendary palace of King Minos and the setting of the myth of the Labyrinth and the Minotaur. The palace complex covers a vast area and includes a labyrinthine layout of rooms, corridors, courtyards, and staircases.

Day 3

Starting from our office or Kyparissos – Time between 09.00 – 10.00

Discover the villages of Venerato – Dafnes – Pentamodi

Begin our E-biking adventure in Venerato, a charming village nestled in the foothills of the Psiloritis mountain range. Take some time to explore the village's traditional architecture, narrow streets, and historic landmarks before setting off on your journey.

Countryside Roads: As you cycle out of Venerato, we will follow countryside roads lined with olive groves, vineyards, and scenic landscapes. Enjoy the fresh air and tranquility as you pedal through the idyllic countryside of central Crete. We will take a break to rest and refuel at local tavernas or cafes, where you can sample authentic Cretan cuisine and refreshments. As we approach Dafnes, we enter wine country, where vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. Will stop on a local winerie along the way to taste the region's famous Dafnes wine and learn about the winemaking process from local producer.

Arrival in Dafnes: Finally, arrive in Dafnes, a village known for its wine production and scenic beauty. We will have have some time to explore the village, visit its historic sites, and enjoy the hospitality of the locals before continuing our journey.

As we leave Dafnes behind, will follow scenic routes that wind through olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills.  Along the way, will pass through smaller villages and hamlets, each with its own unique character and charm. We have the opportunity to stop and explore these villages, interact with the locals, and soak up the authentic atmosphere. After a scenic ride, we arrive in Pentamodi, a traditional Cretan village nestled amidst the mountains. We will explore Pentamodi's narrow streets, visit its historic churches, and admire the tranquil surroundings. Before heading back, we treat ourselves to a well-deserved break at one of Pentamodi's tavernas or cafes. We will enjoy the traditional Cretan cuisine and refreshments while taking in the peaceful ambiance of the village. After exploring Pentamodi, is time to drive back.
